At the potluck, after eating, youth should gather on the benches to the side of the yacht club to vote on the Junior Yacht Club President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary for the 2026 season. Any sailing school student who will be here for the season is encouraged to run for election, no expertise necessary! Please be prepared to introduce yourself and tell the group why you would be a good candidate for the position you are running for!

The biggest Maine Regatta held anywhere north of Portland is also the most fun. The race starts in front of the Bayside dock, circumnavigates 10 mile long Islesboro Island and returns to Bayside. The course is over 28 nautical miles as the crow flies. The direction to take around Islesboro is decided the morning of the race based on wind direction and the timing of the tides in Gilkey Harbor.
